English Language Learners can say some funny things, incidentally.  For example,
"IN MY FACE!"

Godspeed, Oprah

Today was the first Oprah Winfrey show Ariel has watched with me.  It will also be the last since it was the show's finale.  (Like the world doesn't know this!)  I had shared with him more about who Oprah is, and how I've been watching her most days for the last 25 years.

It was a great show which summed up the major lessons O has learned and taught us, so I'm really thankful Ariel watched it with me.  He was very interested in what she had to say.

After the show ended, and Oprah walked off her set, Ariel said, "Well, we'll get to see her in heaven though." It did feel like a funeral...we'll miss you, O.

An Expression of Victory.

"Democracy!!!"

Good planning!

Ari has a new interest in ancient Egyptian culture.  He watched "Young Indiana Jones Adventures" with his Dad, and they followed up with an in-depth discussion and learning session.  Ariel was excited to tell me, "Mom!  I'm writing everything down in my ipod notes. I put info on pharoahs in my ipod because when I go to Egypt, it might come in handy."

Our beloved Gov'na.

On the way to Ariel's batting practice, I noticed the price of gas at the Shell station, "Woah!  $4.09!  Gas has never been that expensive!"  Ariel was shocked as well.  After a moment, he quietly said, "I wonder if this is because of Scott Walker."
